Trees Trimming in S. Jakarta Constrained by Inadequate Tools

South Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Sub-dept continues to do tree pruning routinely in order to prevent the accident caused by fallen tree. However, the effort is hampered due to lack of adequate tools.

We are constrained by the lack of crane trucks because we only have one truck for now

Suzi Marzitawati, Head of South Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-dept. said, her side needs the crane trucks to trim the thousands trees in the area. However, her side only has one crane truck.

"We are constrained by the lack of crane trucks because we only have one truck for now. Meanwhile, we should trim many trees in South Jakarta," said Suzi, Monday (2/2).

Moreover, Suzi continued, there are 2,000 trees that need to be treated specifically because the trees are lush and old.

To support the prevention program, her side will propose to increase the number of the crane trucks next year. "We will propose the small crane cars to facilitate us operating in citizen's settlement and not disturb the road user," she continued.

She added, her side has trimmed around 150 trees of angsana, glodogan, tamarind, banyan, and tanjung.
